Day 78

Nice warm day here Thursday in the Texas Hill Country.
Our second and last day - they are filled for the weekend due to spring break.  Moving on to Corpus Christi in the morning.
Going to stop by The Salt Lick BBQ for lunch on our way out of this area.  It's world famous for real Texas BBQ  http://www.saltlickbbq.com/locations_driftwood.html  click this link to check it out.  Note the "cash only" policy and BYOB.

More on Corpus Christi - we want to stay on the beach in Padre Island National Seashore.  But tomorrow is the start of the "spring break" season.  It's first come - first served as far as campsites go so we'll just have to "wing it".  As a precaution, I did book one night in Corpus Christi at an RV park near the bridge going over to Padre Island.  From there we will see if we can get into the National Seashore campground first thing Saturday morning.  It's possible we will not get anywhere near the water to camp along the Texas coast for the next 10 days.  That would sure spoil our plans for a little "beach time" prior to heading home.  But we'll stay (if possible) at the RV park if not on Padre Island for a few days to see what the area has to offer.  If nothing else we'll drive up to Galveston Island State Park where they allow "overflow" camping in the parking lot.  Not a bad place to be if you can do without electrical hookup.  But we have the onboard generator and a small Honda "quiet" for long term use for lights and tv and such at night.

I have a "bug" of some kind and am spending time close to the RV here at our current location.  Did manage to take Isabelle to the falls to go swimming late morning.  First opportunity to get wet since early January in Catalina State Park.  She had a great time, as did we just watching her.  We will hike a four mile trail later today if my system settles down.

That's all from here.  Oh, I think my RV battery died yesterday.  It won't hold a charge so I need to jump it everytime I turn it off.

So far on this trip I've lost my crown, my computer, my cell phone, my dog, and now my RV battery.
I can't stay out much longer - have to get home soon before something else happens.

Oh well!  The weather has been wonderful the entire trip and that's what we set out to find.

I have pictures to upload but the connection here out in the "boonies" is too slow for picture files.  I'll add them to a later post - tomorrow when we get to Corpus Christi I hope.
